Unleashed to Close and Donate All Assets in Memory of Founder, Dr. Stacey Radin

NEW YORK, NY (October 29, 2019) — Children’s Aid announced today that Unleashed, a ground-breaking girl’s leadership program, has donated its financial, educational and intellectual assets in the memory of its founder, Dr. Stacey Radin to Children’s Aid, who will utilize these assets to build a new curriculum focused on adolescent girl empowerment especially for their South Bronx community schools.

Unleashed is an integration of leadership development, social-emotional learning, and activism, with the goal of arming girls with the critical tools necessary to navigate complex social problems throughout the course of their lives. The program uses animal rights as the vehicle for adolescent girls to have an opportunity to gain hands-on leadership skills. Unleashed provides girls the opportunity to take ownership, and empowers them to create an impact and make a difference in their world.

“It’s an honor and privilege to have the Unleashed program now part of Children’s Aid,” said Sandra Escamillia-Davies, vice president of adolescence programs at Children’s Aid. “Stacey was a unique individual who had a keen understanding in fostering the next generation of women leaders. She created such an important resource for youth development. We are so grateful to her, she will truly be missed.”

“This partnership truly honors Stacey, who dedicated her career to the development of girls and women professionally as a psychologist, researcher, and leadership consultant,” said Unleashed Board Member, Brian Radin. “Stacey’s passion for developing cutting-edge leadership programs designed to implement change, strengthen leaders’ ability to influence ethically, and create opportunities to experiment and think out of the box is a testament of how she will be remembered.” The culmination of her experiences with Unleashed was the publishing of Brave Girls, Raising Young Woman With Passion and Purpose to Become Powerful Leaders.

As Stacey wrote in Brave Girls, “Unleashed was fueled by my passion to take a stand, advocating for the power of woman and girls, it is a cause larger than myself, rooted deep within my soul.”
