Children's Aid Partners with TopSpin Charity to Support New York City Children

The Children’s Aid Society is pleased to announce its partnership with TopSpin Charity, a community of sports and media professionals dedicated  to providing necessary resources to underprivileged children. By leveraging its strengths, including wide visibility in the media and sports industries, TopSpin will focus its partnership with Children’s Aid on raising awareness and support for the Children’s Aid College Prep Charter School, beginning with a Nov. 6 charity table tennis event at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

The charter school, the first founded by Children’s Aid, opened its doors in the Morrisania section of the Bronx in August 2012. It offers students a rigorous academic program in addition to addressing their medical, mental health, dental and social needs. The school currently serves nearly 200 students in kindergarten, first and second grade. The Nov. 6 event will benefit Children’s Aid College Prep and other educational nonprofits around New York.

“TopSpin is excited to partner with The Children’s Aid Society – an organization that shares our passion for solving the education crisis in our communities,” said Peter Farnsworth, founder of TopSpin Charity. “Table tennis is a great way to bring the sports industry together in support of education. We’re hoping to exceed our fundraising goals and have people enjoy a little friendly competition along the way.”

“The Children’s Aid Society is honored to partner with TopSpin in these efforts to serve New York City’s vulnerable communities,” said Richard Buery, president and CEO of The Children’s Aid Society. “TopSpin’s mission to support quality educational opportunities for low-income youth aligns with our comprehensive approach to academic and personal success.”

Tickets for the Nov. 6 TopSpin charity event are currently on sale for $125 per ticket and $225 for table tennis tournament entry. To purchase tickets and sign up to participate in the Corporate Challenge or Open Division Tournament, please visit www.topspincharity.com.
