Donation will help sustain and expand nutrition education program for New York City youth.
August 3, 2026 • New York, NY – Children’s Aid announced today that its Go!Chefs nutrition education program has received a $50,000 grant from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S. This funding will support a streamlined model of the organization’s Go!Chefs program, benefiting children across 10 Children’s Aid sites in New York City.
“Our Go!Chefs program helps young people develop lifelong healthy habits through cooking classes, nutrition education, and access to resources that promote active, healthy lifestyles,” said Phoebe C. Boyer, President and CEO of Children’s Aid. “We deeply appreciate Bayer Fund’s continued support, which will help sustain and strengthen our culinary program for young people across New York City.”
Go!Chefs is a hands-on food and nutrition education program that teaches elementary, middle, and high school students how to prepare healthy meals at home. This grant will support the development of a centralized digital hub featuring training materials, lesson plans, and resource guides, providing staff across Children’s Aid sites with seamless access to the tools needed to effectively implement the program.
This investment comes at a critical time for Children’s Aid nutrition education efforts. The passage of H.R. 1 last year eliminated SNAP-Ed, the organization’s largest source of funding for food and nutrition programming. By repackaging the Go!Chefs curriculum for independent implementation, Children’s Aid will be able to continue providing students at its community schools and centers with nutrition education that promotes healthy habits and improved health outcomes.
“Bayer Fund is proud to support Children’s Aid and their work to make real, sustainable impacts in their community,” said Susan Anderson, director of philanthropy and community impact of Bayer Fund. “Programs like Go!Chefs help combat the critical issue of food insecurity, and we’re proud to play a role in helping even more people in our community have access to healthy, nutritious food.”
In 2025, Bayer Fund awarded more than $3.4 million in grants to 100 organizations, including $2.6 million in support for impactful Food & Nutrition and Health & Wellness programs in communities where our employees live and work. Through these efforts, Bayer Fund supports local programs that address major national challenges aligning with Bayer’s mission Health for all, hunger for none.
